Early Settlers House in Contrast Modern Building

Early settlersEarly settlers house in contrast with the most modern building in SP. In a span of 30 meters high by 45 meters wide, part of the landscape of a mirrored office building on Faria Lima Ave, lies a house from the 18th century. The Bandeirista House Itaim Bibi, located on one of the most important avenues of São Paulo. It has been fully restored and is part of the newly built complex towers designed with 19 floors and six underground. Inhabited and visited by farmers, small traders and religious in the colonial Brazil, the residence was turned into sanatorium between the 1920s and 1980s. Now residents of the neighborhood struggle for having it turned into a cultural center.
The Bandeirista house was listed as a landmark by the Council for the Defense of the Historical, Archaeological, Artistic and Tourist department (Condephaat) in 1982.
The Bandeirista House, bears its named because they belonged to families of early settlers and Pathfinders of Brazil. It has nine rooms, including living room, bedrooms, utility room and even a small chapel. Now owned by Victor Malzoni Group, which constructed the business building literally over the house without touching it.
