Little Italy Neighborhood (Italian refuge in São Paulo). This area is where a large amount of Spaniard, German, English, French, Belgian, and mostly Italian immigrants settled. The Bela Vista area is the neighborhood known as Bixiga.
The neighborhood was predominantly formed by Italian immigrants and is often refered to as “Little Italy”, with Itailian style buildings and narrow streets, the area has a variety of Italian eateries and restaurants.
The area has a lively nightlife, dotted with bars & restaurants and Paulista Ave is nearby. It also has many cultural attractions such as museums and several performing arts theaters, which are excellent places to see Broadway-type shows. Bela Vista is also home to Vai-Vai Samba School, the oldest & most popular Samba school in Sao Paulo.
