Tea Viaduct or Tea Overpass Tour

Tea Viaduct or TeaTea Viaduct or Tea Overpass. Located at the Vale do Anhangabau is an overpass or bridge that connects the old downtown with the new downtown. It first opened in 1892, when originally had a metal structure with wooden floors, but was later replaced and made of reinforced concrete twice as wide. The bridge is featured on many of city’s main postcards and often serves as a backdrop on different television programs and movies. It’s called “Tea overpass” because it had a large tea plantation under and around of it during part of the 19th century where it is today the great square known and Anhangabaú Valley.
