Food Distribuion Center (Huge variety of typical Brazilian goods). Third largest wholesale market in the world and first in Latin America, the Ceagesp emerged in 1969 as a result of a merger between two companies in the São Paulo government.
Today “Ceagest” is visited by tourists from around the world looking for quality products, provide much of the country supplies when it comes to flowers, fruits, plants, fish, vegetables, moving 250,000 tons of these products per month.
In the retail sector the site also stands out mainly because of “Varejao”, a sort of flea market held three times a week (on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays) that publicly make products available at low prices and ready typical food of São Paulo farms market such pastel, sugarcane juice, skewers, corn, cake, among many others.
Apart from Varejao, another major tourist attraction is the market of Flowers, the largest event of its kind in the country. There is also a space for accessories and crafts. The site offers guided tour for groups of up to 30 people lasting about 1h30 for those interested.
